Texas Country Music Junkie looks at The Rankin Twins


On Friday March 22, 2013, Texas Country Music Junkie was able to give away
all kinds of Signed CDs and Photos, T-Shirts, Koozies, and Ball Caps.

The promo merchandise was provided by Rankin Twins the Texas based band out of Portland, TX.

Identical Twins Amy and April Rankin are a band whose popularity continues to grow throughout Texas. The band have two EPs and a forthcoming CD due out soon.

They have had hit songs and currently have a song moving up on the Texas Music Chart entitled “Holdin’ Pattern”.

Comprising the band are:

Amy & April Rankin- Lead and harmony vocals
Etan Sekons- Lead Guitar
Erik Frankson- Drums
Tony Senser- Bass
Michael Davids- Keys/Mandolin/Harmony

The Rankin Twins’ “Holdin’ Pattern” is currently #27 and #30 on the Texas Regional Radio Report and the Texas Music Chart respectively.

The Give Away happened in Orange County CA, at In Cahoot’s Fullerton. Over
the course of the night the clubs attendees were offered a chance to win by
texting in a Keyword to a Short Code using their Mobile Device.

Randomly, winners were chosen by the SMS Platform software and received a text
inviting them to come up to the DJ Booth to receive their prize.

A picture of the winner was taken and they provided their first name and
mentioned by DJ Jeremy over the PA.

People sure do enjoy winning prizes, and some came running up excited to see
what they won. Overall, dozens of prizes were given away, including The Rankin
Twins CDs “Headaches & Heartbreaks” and “Silver Lining” EPs.
